New Vinyl Sliding Glass Door Widens Options for Builders
NORTH VENICE, Fla., April 26, 2011 – PGT Industries has unveiled a new platform of vinyl-framed sliding glass doors offering a sliding panorama reaching heights of 10 feet and spans of 40 feet. Builders and installers can reconfigure doors in the field with interchangeable and reversible panel interlocks, and install or remove interior or exterior panels, simplifying condo applications.
All PGT frames are made of high quality ingredients that enhance color stability, require minimum maintenance, are energy efficient, and are durable to reduce outdoor noise and provide high security against intruders.
Debbie LaPinska, PGT Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said, "Until now, the vinyl door market was contained to a two-track system. Now our customers can receive an Energy Star® sliding glass door that can fill up to a 40-foot wide opening."
Additional features of this series of sliding glass doors include: dual point mortise locking hardware; choice of raised handles or recessed pulls; roller assembly options; and replaceable sill tracks.
Founded in 1980, PGT® is one of the nation's leading manufacturers and suppliers of residential impact-resistant windows and doors, with products serving the residential, commercial, high-rise and institutional markets in both new construction and replacement projects.
PGT, Inc., recently acquired the assets of Hurricane Window and Door Technologies of Fort Myers, Fla., and launched its PremierVue line of impact-resistant vinyl windows, which were specifically developed for the hurricane protection market.
“PGT’s core residential business continues to focus on the impact coastal markets. Meeting the most stringent structural requirements has always been in our company DNA, but we are also committed to producing products which are highly energy efficient,” said Rod Hershberger, President and CEO. “These vinyl products meet Miami-Dade County’s highest residential structural code requirements and reflect our continued commitment to lead the market and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
